A Crunched JPEG Photo

Can you tell which is the original and which is the reduced-byte version? The original weighs in at 46018 bytes. The “lite” version is only 5039 — just over 10% of the original! Now, that will speed up your load time!

Is this the original? Or is it this one?

By the way, this is also an excellent example of how badly a page can be messed up. The layout is in tables, with the photos placed side by side. In Internet Explorer, the photos are side by side and each has a nice HTML generated frame. That’s the way it is supposed to be. In Netscape, however, the photos are one above the other (vertically aligned) and the “border” is a little square between the photos.

Oh . . . the photo on the right is the original.
